Asian Salmon Tartare

Ingredients
  

  • 400 g fresh salmon fillet sashimi quality, skinless and boneless
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp lime juice
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger finely grated
  • 0.5 shallot finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander chopped
  • 0.5 avocado diced (optional)
  • sesame seeds for garnish

Method
 

  1. Dice the salmon fillet into small, even cubes (about 1cm).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, sesame oil, lime juice, grated ginger, and chopped shallot.
  3. Gently add the salmon and coriander to the marinade. Add avocado if desired. Mix carefully.
  4. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  5. Serve the tartare chilled, garnished with sesame seeds. Serve with toasts, shrimp chips, or a light green salad.

Notes

Feel free to customize this recipe! Add red chilies for spice, substitute parsley for coriander, or add diced mango for sweetness.
